Other Brangelina news, the pair were spotted in LA  this weekend in Beverly Hills with their new twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline and they have now reached the grand age of 1 years old. They were born in Nice, France, at the seaside Fondation Lenval on July 12, 2008.

The main headline though is Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are talking of a New York move with the property in question being called Apthorp (photo above) , a 1908 property in Manhattan and they are apparently considering the biggest apartment there which has 13 bedrooms and is valued in the region of £15 million but it is rumoured they may buy a couple of adjoining apartments to create more space and also as an investment! This property has been carefully considered for multiple access points  so they can avoid the paparazzi (hopefully) when the need arises.

It’s not clear whether they are selling up and leaving LA or whether they will keep their LA pad and have this as an east coast alternative.

Ivanovic is currently ranked 8th in the world and is the previous winner of the French open in 2008. Beginning of the tennis season has not been great for her with a lack of form robbing her of any chance to reach the final stages of tournaments but her form seems to be returning and at a critical point in the season with Grand Slam season now in full swing.

Fox Hollywood our new Pap site is now LIVE in Beta format. Currently 2 posts, with Jen getting the proceedings under way. Further posts will be as and when in line with demand. Will feature both male and female celebs. It will be geared up to the fashionistas out there with plenty of full length shots. Grab the RSS we think this will be a flier!

Femi Fame our Female Celeb Red Carpet site which has been subjected to our “pump and dump” routine we use on all new sites including FJ Girls in its early days, where we chuck out a dozen or so headlines, drive everybody into a frenzy and then run off  for a couple of months and see if she holds up. Site Nose dives into oblivion…..we shut down the site, firm interest even after 2 months, we have a winner and site gets the thumbs up! The news is there is still significant interest in Femi Fame  so this site will be getting increased attention in the future as there have been a lot of film premiere’s.  Design may be changing also! FJ Girls UK Blog is more of the same and will be getting more posts soon!

More sites in the pipeline, one that is currently a very boring looking text only celebrity gossip site we acquired recently called CelebGoss which will be a celebrity gossip and news aggregator site, a sort of feed reader in website form, anticipated launch Summer 2009. Feed aggregation will feature headline with link to original website with full feed credit. A handy site not only for celebrity gossip fans but one we will be using also for news headline research to avoid duplicating whats already out there. We are not keen on aggregrator and splog sites that go round swiping full feeds to make their own sites without giving credit to the people who have spent hours writing this stuff, this site aims to take these guys on and show how it should be done whilst respecting peoples posts that are there property! Getting interest already !

One we bought this weekend as Britney Spears will be buzzing in the UK in June is BritneySpearsPage a not for profit fan site currently one page only, very BETA and needs clearance probably from the lady herself before it goes fully live as it contains her name, but one to watch none the less. Again only acquired days ago but already getting interest! Could be a flier or could be shut down in days due to a Britney thumbs down!

Lady Gaga Spotting in Oz

Her recent first round match was against Anne Keothavong of the UK, (pictured below)currently our best offering and ranked World No48. Dinara Safina proved her world ranking and class which some have doubted, with a 6-0, 6-0 straight sets win, a total victory if ever there was, not even allowing Anne Keothavong to taste a one point victory. The total crushing of Keothavong on centre court took a mere 61 minutes.

All eyes are on Dinara, her Madrid win was on a clay court and The French Open is more of the same and will suit her style of play. It’s a grand slam title and one that is coveted and highly respected and one that Dinara is eager to win. A win here would increase further her World No1 lead and respect within tennis circles quashing any remaining doubters,  and place her very nicely into a good seeding for the Grand Slam that is Wimbledon, on its way very soon!

Dinara Safina and The French Open, Paris

Charlotte Gainsbourg won the Best Actress Award see details above and the Michael Heneke black and white drama “The White Ribbon” won the best film award.

Inglourious Bastards which stars Brad Pitt and premiered with Angelina Jolie in attendance (see post) was directed by Quentin Tarantino received mainly negative reviews although we rated as 3 and half stars++++ but this was trailer based, and Quentin Tarantino did not attend the Palm D’Or Award event ceremony.

Mixed reviews were also received for the last film starring Heath Ledger “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” although it looks a certainty that this will reach some form of cult status in future years.

Charlotte Gainsbourg and Cannes Film Festival Palm D’Or Awards

Either way a priceless photo that just had to be here and never fails to put a smile on the face. This photo is about as far removed from the Cannes Film Festival Red Carpet glamour as you can get where she attended days earlier. Just goes to show even top actresses eat with plastic forks!

“Salt” looks an incredibly interesting film and for those who have been following our coverage of this behind the scenes Salt footage with photos and vids, this looks to be a must see film, even just to find out what actually goes on , as its difficult to fathom with no access to the script, which film makers keep as a closely guarded secret until the film release proper. One thing is guaranteed…if this film premiere’s in London and Angie is in attendance, FJ will be there, and this site will be shut on that day……..no questions asked!

Lots of news and rumours surrounding Angie, the most popular one being the Brangelina camp is showing some cracks on the relationship front. It seems to be coming up increasingly and from some quite respected sources but its all merely speculation, but as they say there is no smoke without fire! We are not quite sure on this one hence no such headline here ……. yet. Any such cracks we always look at the woman, and Angie is looking solid!

An interesting article we read in the Sun over the weekend which had a few shots of the after party at the Cannes Film Festival and focused on the body language issue. Some interesting shots in this article raising some interesting theories that the body language was not indicating a stable relationship, as body language never lies. There was some mention of Brad Pitt having his hand in his pocket whilst on the red carpet which apparently indicates a non willingness and not totally comfortable being there scenario. Also Angie is arm outstretched whilst Brad is holding her hand  with his arm by his side all in photo above creating a huge rift between them!

All interesting stuff. Again its all on the outside looking in, and you have to remember, Angelina Jolie is an incredibly good actress and Brad Pitt is a very good actor , and they are all too aware of these finer points when in the public eye, even in the more elite private invite only after parties held at the Cannes Film Festival. Whether you can read anything from this is debatable, but interesting none the less and a situation we are keeping a close eye on!

Angelina Jolie, Chocolate Cake, Handcuffs and “Salt” Filming!

Enormous media coverage of her in the UK with full photos, pointless repeating whats already out there, we’ve decided to take a different angle on Beyonce and her visit to London and focused on the “I Am…” Tour After Party Event held at the Indig02 at the 02 Arena (photo of her live above) . This is a smaller more intimate style venue with more of a gig sort of atmosphere, and this was an interesting performance as Beyonce made it a family affair and performed live as expected but also brought her sister along Solange Knowles to perform some of her numbers as well along with Jay Z watching in the audience.

Solange is following in the family footsteps and doing whats in her blood and thats singing and performing. We have heard some of her material, she seems to go for the retro sound,  check out this Solange Knowles post, she’s not in the same league as Beyonce, not quite as talented and volume wise she’s not so in your face either, something she accepts, but there is something there that a career could be based on albeit probably nowhere near as succesful as her diva limelight hugging sister.

Amy as fans will know is no stranger to this “no show” behaviour but delving deeper recent headlines stating she has been rushed into hospital with chest pains this was more of a precautionary move than an accident/emergency type situation may be the reason behind this last minute pull out, as we know she loves to perform live in her home town and it would take something pretty serious to stop that from happening.

The record company has said “Amy would like to apologise to her fans who bought tickets for the show.”

There has been reports in a lot of the media that her current rehab has curbed her drug addiction but heavy alcohol dependency has replaced it. It appears she may have left London behind, but it also appears her demons have followed her to St Lucia and are not so easy to shake off.  

Apparently there is a documentary being made about Amy Winehouse and her turbulent lifestyle in the pipeline following in the footsteps of a recent one done by Britney Spears. By all accounts it will be an all cards on the table, warts and all  style, which could make very interesting viewing which some people may find uncomfortable to watch.  This may shed some light on the woman behind the turbulent headlines, if the filming actually goes ahead without any problems! 

Her record company gets top marks for their patience with Amy, with the third album still in the pipeline and has been for some time now, and cancelled live gigs, but they know there’s a vast amount of talent here, and all you can do is simply wait. How long they will carry on doing this for Amy Winehouse though remains to be seen!

The jury is out on this one, but our view here is Kate=”best as blonde” no doubts there at all. Scarlett Johansson pulled the same act with the brunette look recently and this was not for a film roll and again Scarlett=”definetly best as blonde”. Fergie on the other hand had golden locks and went brunette and she’s pulled it off, a bit of a shock initially,  but its a look that suits her. Fergie=”best as blonde or brunette”.  Leighton Meester went from brunette to blonde for her latest film role in the Roommate again Leighton=”best as brunette”. Kim Kardashian and Brunette to Honey Both looked good, she could probably just pull off blonde, it would be interesting but Kim = “Best as Brunette”. All just in our opinion, many fashionistas out there probably will have different views!

Other news and goss, Kate Hudson has been spotted with A rod, Madonna’s ex according to loads of media sources. Tongues are wagging. Something going on or just good friends?

Kate Hudson and New Brunette Look and New Film News

After her long hard tour of the US which has now been completed she was in need of a much needed break and decided the Caribbean would be the best option to chill. The Britney holiday entourage also included  her dad, Jamie, brother Bryan and agent, Jason Trawick. Jason Trawick is of particular interest here as the media are tagging Jason Trawick as Britneys new man, whether this is fact remains unclear.

She wrote on Twitter:

“Nothing better than a day at the beach with my family!”

A bit of holiday confirmation from the lady herself!

Her next tour date is 3rd June in London, which then starts off her UK and European tour proper. Britney Spears has been Female Celebrity of the Month last year with her huge comeback, we think the UK visit will match or beat the recent Miley Cyrus visit for media coverage, and she could well be Female Celebrity of the Month on this site for June as a result, something that is being chewed over here, before the Britney news storm hits the UK!

Inglourious Basterds is an upcoming epic  war film written and directed by Quentin Tarantino and narrated by Samuel L Jackson. The film has an all star line up including Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger and Mike Myers amongst many others. 

The plot:

Set in Nazi-occupied France during World War II, According to The Hollywood Reporter, “two story lines converge: One follows a group of Jewish-American soldiers whose mission is to take down a group of Nazis, and the other follows a young Jewish woman who seeks to avenge the death of her parents by this Nazi group”.

Quentin Tarantino is a renowned director with the trademark of his films being non linear storylines and often featuring brutal violence but essential to the films makeup and plot.

His films include Reservoir Dogs (1992), Pulp Fiction (1994), Jackie Brown (1997), Kill Bill (Vol. 1 2003, Vol. 2 2004) and Death Proof (2007). He has been named as the 12th Greatest Director of All Time. His entry is up for the prestigious Cannes Film Festival Palm D’Or award and according to many sources he could just grab this prize again as he has won it before.

The Verdict:

Provisionally from limited material this film has all the hallmarks of the makings of a good film, war and drama through the distinctly different eyes of a master director such as Tarantino with a no holds barred approach. Quality cast line up, quality direction, controversial subject matter, necessary violence, strong storyline, strong characters, all shapes up for a quality number. The film “Precious” in our opinion just has the edge for us here, it drew us in more and riveted us to the spot and it has the OMG factor going on. But this Inglorious Basterds looks a pretty strong challenger for the Palm D’Or award at Cannes.  Impressive! Rating 3 and half stars out of 5 ++++++++++++++

The film is due for release in the US on August 20th 2009

Wanida Termthanaporn who is not exactly short in the looks department attended the Nymph (Nang Mai) Photocall along with the director held at the Palais Des Festivals during the 62nd International Cannes Film Festival on May 20, 2009 in Cannes, France.

Extremely limited information on this film but basically its about a man that falls in love with a tree and this film has supernatural undertones. No trailer available at present but Wanida Termthanaporn makes up for this in more ways than one and had to appear here on this site for obvious reasons!. Film is unrated due to the lack of footage but the vibe is this looks to be a good and interesting film.

The  Plot

An asthmatic, overweight school kid gets bullied at school to such a point  that he commits suicide. He then comes back as a zombie ghost and terrorises the gang that drove him to take his life.

The Verdict:
On what initially sounds a ridiculous plot/film and as far fetched as it can possibly get, you’ve got to hand it to this film for the “Zombie Ghosts” element. We’ve heard of Zombies and we’ve heard of ghosts but Zombie Ghosts, now there’s an original idea. In a lot of places this film has a B Movie feel about it, and also a slightly “home” made feel to it, ordinarily this would spell disaster, but thats strangely this films appeal and it seems to work, in an odd way!

Acting, plot/storyline and acting weight in terms of casting and any other technical film aspects are not this films strong point at all, and the critics we think will not be keen on this film for that reason, and we wouldn’t say its incredibly scary. But originality it has, its slasher, horror screamville with a modern day feel and twist, and although the story is far fetched, the bullying aspect in everyday school life is pretty real and we are talking globally.  This film has a message and you could say its sole purpose is to make bullies think twice about what they are doing, could become compulsory viewing in schools, you never know!

We quite like the look of this film for that reason, but 3 stars for this film would put it in the same league as the recent neutrally rated “Easy Virtue” starring Jessica Biel, different league film altogether therefore we think not! But its way better than 2 stars and marginally better than 2 and a half. Rating 2 and half stars out of 5++++++. Essential viewing for slasher fest lovers, but not for the sqeamish.

This is a Goss post pure and simple but based on fact. We have been watching developments with this Paul Sculfor and Cameron Diaz over the last few weeks, and the headline news surrounding these two some time ago was Cameron Diaz was intending to move to Essex?,  which raised a chuckle here, it certainly raised a few eyebrows and created some serious head scratching here in the UK, with words muttered such as…….. WHY?

Visions of Cameron Diaz in the  “greasy spoon” and down the local “dog and duck” sampling the Essex tipple and heading off down to the “chippy” whilst learning the Essex lingo on a Bingo night out,  just didn’t seem to gel in the mind whatsoever, but would have made interesting viewing none the less. Having said that, out of all the Hollywood crowd, Cameron Diaz probably would be the best bet at cracking the Essex culture and life, there would be a few laughs on the way for sure, essential for survival in the Essex World, thats coming from somebody who knows just a few too many hardcore Essex types!

Latest news out on the gossip mags, she is now dating none other than US Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine, they’ve been spotted out together, and apparently he has met Diaz’s mum. You could say she has landed on her feet, but a move to Essex and that 2 eggs, bacon, beans, fried tomatoe with fried slice and plenty of ketchup still can’t be ruled out!

A post for serious film buffs as this film is more in the “art” mould and a bit heavy going for some. Penelope Cruz has been busy over the last year or so and has appeared in some critically acclaimed and award winning films with her best being “Vicki Christina Barcelona” where she this year won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, a Goya, and a BAFTA for her role in this Woody Allen directed superb production.

Penelope Cruz is a talented actress but shines best in Spanish productions or films set in that locale. Broken Embraces in Spanish is ‘Los abrazos rotos’ featuring the Spanish Director Pedro Almodóvar who Cruz has worked with before in such films as “Volver” and “Todo sobre mi madre” looks to be a combo that will bring the Cruz effect into full force.

The film is set in the 1990s and present day. The film centers on a four-way tale of dangerous love, and was shot in the style of a hard-boiled 1950s American film noir. Its soundtrack features acclaimed artists such as Cat Power, Uffie and Vitamin C. Limited footage available of this film.  Trailer very short 30 secs.

Critics are mixed on this film with some criticism being thrown at direction, with things being a bit too over complicated for the films good, distracting interest from the main characters, but all critics seem to agree that Cruz puts in a solid performance. 3 stars seems to be the order of the day for this film and our preliminary rating is also 3 stars out of 5 as there is some pedigree here.

Hello magazine along with its competitor OK are renowned for going into the stars homes and paying vast sums for the privilege to get some pretty up close and personal interviews probably some of the best in the industry. So anything said here  can be taken  pretty much as gospel.

Just one small issue here, it doesn’t look like Lewis Hamilton has actually proposed to Nicole yet, but after reading Hello mag which we are sure he does on a weekly basis, the pop the question idea has been firmly planted in his mind, in a very subtle manner?, its just all a question of timing and finding “the moment”.

News wise this site has been scratching and digging for weeks to get some decent information, and finally the New Moon poster has just been released see copy above and the all important film release date can be clearly seen as 20 Nov 09. Quite a bold move on the production teams part as they are still currently filming, whether this is the actual release date proper remains to be seen.

More New Moon news the MTV Movie Awards which are taking place at Universal City Los Angeles, and will be broadcasting live on May 31 in the US. Present at the event will Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. A pre release trailer will also be aired at this event and this is the first showing of this material.

There is talk of some awesome special effects in this film, but any other information is strictly under wraps as they normally are whilst a film is being shot. A highly anticipated film and the vibe on the film at present is it looks to be even better than the first!

So here she is. Miley Cyrus in Pink Bikini bottoms, black bikini top, the Miley smile and the “if i put these on no one will recognise me” shades. For those who are interested at the time this photograph was taken she was laughing and joking around with her brother, Braison and sister Noah, before all getting on a banana boat ride around Paradise Island.

For the girls it was all about the look.  Ciara was into the black leather boots and black leather arm length gloves  with an enormous psycherdelic hanky look  whilst Fergie was having none of that and decided to go for the “ear muffs” with plenty of boom boom and not forgetting the pow with parachute harness look. The film Don’t Look Back” is Directed by French Director Marina Von Van and is billed as a fantasy psychological thriller and looks set to be released in France in Early June. Mixed reception from critics with some giving the thumbs up, some thumbs down, and some simply not knowing what to make of it at all. Its about an author that starts of as actress Marceua but slowly changes into actress Bellucci as the film progresses hence the two actresses role in this film. It’s being billed as a bit on the strange side by the media but this is a film festival and it is about film and art and strangeness is no stranger to these events.

Monica Bellucci the 44 year old if you can believe it, Italian actress is also set to appear in another film alongside Nicholas Cage where she plays a sorceress who takes on a young college student to take on the evil forces that are working in Manhattan New York. Its a Disney style film and it looks set to be released some time in 2010 according to Variety Mag. Filming is already underway, if footage becomes available it will be here!

She was at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival  to promote her latest starring role where she plays the scholar Hypatia and plays an astronomer in ancient Alexandria alongside the late director Anthony Minghella’s son Max in Roman Egypt.

The film is focused on Hypatia, who shuns romantic advances to devote herself completely to the study of the stars as religious violence rages around her. Her inspiration for this role came from her 85 year old aunt who she said” devoted her life to science”. Alejandro Amenabar from Chile is the films director and has an Oscar to his name.

Rachel Weisz shone on the red carpet in green and was amongst a slew of stars attending this event with recently Mariah Carey for her film screening of Precious which got a high rating from us.

Dinara Safina is making Tennis headlines and causing tennis heads to roll with her current ranking as World No1 ahead of Serena Williams who is currently suffering injury problems which is severely affecting performance. This Dinara win at the Madrid Open although not part of the Grand slam listing should put some tennis murmerings to rest and also keep her firmly in the No1 spot, a prime position to be in , as the Grand Slam event season gets ever closer.

The French Open is part of the Grand Slam series, is played on the hard clay court style surface, it will be interesting if she can repeat this performance at this event, a victory of which  carries a lot of prestige within tennis circles and would enhance further her current World No1 ranking!

First off the results for the European Song Contest which was won by Norwegian winner Alexander Rybak, who received the highest ever score of 387. Second place went to Iceland’s entry sung by Rohanna with “Is It True” with 218 points and Azerbaijans entry came third and was performed by the duo Aysel and Aras singing “Always” and this act got a standing ovation from the audience.  Fourth place went to the very beyonce looking Turkey entry Hadise performing

Jade Ewen and her song “It’s My Time” written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and the UK entry  did us proud and came in 5th place and this was expected as there was some serious talent thrown into this act and it had that Euro sound that would push the right buttons with the judging panel.

The German entry entitled “miss Kiss Kiss Bang” featured below in our opninion needed Dita Von Teese, they came in 20th even after her appearance in the performance, wonder where they would have come without her presence.

Voting wise after last years controversy things have now changed with jury voting and now viewer  televoting  has been added to the mix and the results seem to be a more accurate reflection of the various abilities at this event with superb acts getting reflected in the corresponding  votes.

Highlights of the Eurovision Song Contest taking a slightly different angle and showcasing  “the lookers” at the contest with the all important Dita Von Teese Video below. We’ve included Turkey’s Beyonce lookalike Hadise and blonde Soraya from Spain.

This film looks to be a biggie, not exactly  musical fans here, but with the weighty talented  line up of this film, it  could be very big indeed and essential viewing if you are a Cruz fan. 

The cast includes none other than Penelope Cruz along with Fergie, Judi Dench, Marion Cotillard, Daniel Day Lewis and also Nicole Kidman, thats an A Lister line up if ever there was. The story is basically about a director called Guido played by Day-Lewis who has to juggle the many women in his life, and you could say it has a similar theme to the recent Woody Allen film that Penelope Cruz starred in and won an Oscar by the name of “Vicki Christina Barcelona” which we rated as a 4 star film.

Penelope Cruz had to practice for months with intense dance classes to do this routine and achieve the desired result, with her quoted by the Daily Mail earlier this year as saying “I couldn’t stop crying”, it was hell and agony and she was left in a bruised state afterwards. All in the name of film making!

Nine is due to be released in the UK and USA on 25 November 2009.

Photos have been captured of the queen of sophisticated tease practising with none other than Germany’s entry for the Eurovision song contest with the finals being held in Moscow tonight. She was spotted with Oscar Loya (photo above) of the Alex Swings Oscar Sings duo performing during the dress rehearsal for the Eurovision 2009 Final at Olimpiysky Sports Centre.

We are talking curvy black basques, nipple tassles and all the other burlesque trimmings all wrapped up in some saucy moves, its boundary pushing stuff question is, is it going to work?

It could be argued that this does give Germany a distinct advantage in the contest and certainly makes the UK entry look a bit on the dowdy side. It will be interesting to see whether this gets the Eurovision song contest voting panel in a total lather doing cart wheels with the excitement of it all, with top marks across the board, or whether they will be true to form and not affected in the slightest giving out “that was rather nice” voting ratings.

It certainly will increase the viewing figures this year either way. Eurovision Song Contest tonight Moscow Russia. Bet you can’t wait!!!

Teri Hatcher is a talented actress and presenter and is also a writer. Male Brit Celeb wise the presence of Ricky Gervais at this event pulled in the crowds and adds a bit of clout to the film of which more details below.

Plot

When the Museum of Natural History is closed for upgrades and renovations, the museum pieces are moved into federal storage at the famous Washington Museums. The centerpiece of the film will be bringing to life the Smithsonian Institution, which houses the world’s largest museum complex with more than 136 million items in its collections, ranging from the plane Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) flew on her non-stop solo flight across the Atlantic and Al Capone’s (Jon Bernthal) rap sheet and mug shot to Dorothy’s ruby slippers, Fonzie’s jacket from Happy Days, the still from M*A*S*H and Archie Bunker’s lounge chair from All in the Family. With a forwarded resume, Larry (Ben Stiller) becomes another caretaker at the Smithsonian, where Kahmunrah, an evil Pharaoh will come to life with the reestablishing of a tablet as a magical force in the museum bringing the old exhibits (Such as Theodore Roosevelt and Dexter) and new exhibits (like General Custer and Al Capone) back to life, and in conflict with each other. Larry enlists the help of Amelia Earheart, who he develops a romantic interest in, and together they try to put everything back in order.

The Verdict:

Ben Stiller we would say dominates in this film and with Robin Williams, Steve Coogan and Rick Gervais thrown into the mix, this on paper should be one hilarious experience having you rolling around in the aisles and laughing for weeks afterwards. Amy Adams plays the attractive love interest as Amelia Earhart and she performs well. From the plot it does indeed sound funny and it is funny in a silly sort of way in places, but it falls short in most areas that we grade on a film, firmly below neutral across the board unfortunately.

Putting 4 strong comedians/actors into this sort of film can result in overkill in an already chaotic museum plot scenario, and dilutes the presence of each one respectively which is the major drawback of this film and it does start to get “comedy actor” crowded, sometimes you can have too much of a good thing and it seems to be the case here. Otherwise if you are in the mood for some turn your brain of silliness and hilarity with Raiders of the Lost Ark special effects  which we have to say are pretty good,  this will be your thing.

Those looking for high brow comedy and acting, probably best look elsewhere. The period comedy drama “Easy Virtue” starring Jessica Biel would probably push the right buttons with its “stiff upper lip” humour, if you are that type of audience. The “Night at the Musuem 2″ we can’t rate any higher than a Rating of 2 stars out 5  but recommended for a bit of light entertainment viewing nonetheless! Box office wise …………… could do quite well!

A lot of hopes riding on Jade Ewens shoulders this weekend with this song “It’s My Time” as she carriers the Brit flag with hopes of a win or at least getting in the top 5. This song is written by non other than the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber which does add some considerable weight to the proceedings. This will make the Euro judges sit up and take notice and show the Euro Community that we are officially taking this event very seriously, a criticism that  has been levelled at our previous entries.

The Verdict.

First off the positives. She can sing, she has a voice, and she can sing well, there is talent here! More importantly she’s a performer, no good having a good voice if you don’t add some performance factor, passion  and animation into the mix. She is very attractive as well, not compulsory for a singer but it does help . Andrew Lloyd Webber playing piano in the background, not sure that will have any sway with the judges if he does perform live,  but if it helps why the hell not, as the song  was written by him. Song has a predictably slightly more classical operatic feel to it, as a result of the named input, and you could say a more Euro feel as well, and we feel this song may appeal to the Euro panel of judges at the Eurovision Song contest. We like the video, it matches the song, its very safe, and the pap scenes adds a bit of glitz and its very now and sums up the celeb obsessed culture that we currently live in. This video obviously will not be appearing at the live event!

Secondly the negatives. Do not like this song at all, vocally and lyrically its fine but everything else is neutral, bland , safe and just a bit dull.  Lacking a bit of edge and passion with a hint of cheesiness coming in here and there, but nowhere near as bad as some entries which we will be subjected to this weekend. A conflict of interests here, a very safe euro sounding song but with talent in abundance.

Our rating  is 2 stars out 5 for the song, but we have to add vocally for Jade Ewen 3 and half stars +++++++, she has got talent that really does need to be pursued further at the expense of everything else!. But we also have to add, at present, she is  nowhere near as good as the likes of Leona Lewis……we have to stress “yet”!

It will be interesting to watch her perform this live in front of a massive Euro TV audience, thats the true test, pressure and nerves affects vocal chords. Will this song win or get in the top 3? We think despite our dismal song rating its very blandness may have that Eurovision appeal as our previous last years entry really was superb but just too sure fire confident and rocking and in everyones face for its own good, it summed up the vibe in the UK at the time as this tiny little country really was rocking, little did we know what was round the corner!

In summary Jade Ewen could surprise and with the Andrew Lloyd Webber song writing and presence and the title of the song “It’s My Time” could ring true, but just don’t bank on it. One things for sure, whether she comes first or last in this contest, this lady has a future in the music industry (based on this studio recording video) ……..thats a certainty.

Live performance below of “Boom Boom Pow” featuring the entire Black Eyed Peas line up including the one that concerns us here and that is Fergie. Complete replica set and look to match the video of the song and top marks for that, but the performance and choreography was a bit flat and lacking some power somewhere from most of the Black Eyed Peas line up, may have been intentional to highlight Fergie.

The exception was Fergie who shone, and she sounded pretty damn close to the studio recording with her live performance and with the look to match,  she stole the show in our opinion and proof why she pursued a solo career. They also performed “Lets Get It Started”, check the related videos for that performance. Performance was on 6 May.

The Rooommate is  thriller drama in the “single White Female” style and mould. Meester (photo top right) playing Rebecca the roomy psycho, and Kelly (photo top left) plays Sara, the suffering roomy in this teen thriller flick. Photo below of Minka Kelly between shoots looking casual.

“Easy Virtue” we would bill as a period rom com drama. This premiered last year at the London Film Festival and at the time was unrated by us as it was at a film festival in effect being showcased for a distributor. Now it is set to be released in cinemas our rating is a solid 3 stars out 5, technically it seems to be good and we feel the critics will rate this higher as it has everything in place they are looking for and dramas are there thing.

Unfortunately not our thing here, otherwise this would have been marked higher. Essential viewing none the less with a solid cast line up if you are a Firth, Biel, Scott-Thomas and  Rom Com fan set in dazzling period authenticness.

She has recently launched a new workout DVD called “Fit in Your Jeans by Friday” which she promoted at Kitson on Robertson Boulevard in Los Angeles and attended the Kentucky Derby the weekend previous.

At this end, more time is spent trying to not publish headlines than to publish on Kim and Paris otherwise the site would turn into a socialite extravaganza, but we do take Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian very seriously and watch there movements closely. If something is happening that we are not aware of then we look to these two ladies to see what is happening in celebville and 9 times out of 10 they lead us right into the thick of the action.

It therefore makes perfect sense to have these top 2 socialites on two seperate fan sites to keep track of what they are up to and any major headlines will still appear here at FJ Girls, but the more day to day lifestyle headlines, and there are many, can appear on their respective fan sites as we know there is demand for this stuff.  These two prospective websites are live but in a dormant state, as we may have to approach these two celebutantes for approval for these sites to go ahead, as there names are in use, its all highly personal stuff, and there are branding and other legal issues here, especially with Paris and the “Hilton” brand!

The two potentially new sites are KimKardashianWorld (so new not yet on search engines) and ParisHilton-Club an expired website/domain we snapped up pretty sharpish. There are loads of fan sites out there already, we know this, we just think we can do it better! Totally new uncharted waters here, they may be have to be axed due to a thumbs down from the celeb concerned, or could become very succesful but they will be supportive sites to FJ Girls which will remain the dominant site. Watch for further news!

The two day event which was held in Swindon, Wiltshire at Lydiard Country park is Europe’s largest free festival. Loads of big names at this event with mainly a Brit flavour but US music star Taylor Swift was in attendance and performed live along with Alesha Dixon and Lily Allen and also “The Saturdays” reckoned to be the next big thing and looking to take on Girls Aloud?, with plans also to tame the US where Girls Aloud have not yet enjoyed any major success. 

We’ve included two live performances from the event both are not “mobile phone” quality, we are talking “broadcast” quality, good enough to look at in a critical manner. The first is from a lady going by the name of Lily Allen singing her UK No1 hit single “The Fear” and secondly a girl band going by the name of “The Saturdays” singing there cover version of the Depeche Mode song ”Just Can’t Get Enough”

Both are live, at the same event, under the same conditions, one performance is spot on the money and one is not up to much at all (in our professional opinion). Do our job for us and become a film/music critic. Guess which is which??. Never know there could be a job for somebody with a critical eye and ear in the future at FJ Girls!!!! These performances have not been rated, there will be more of these in the future as loads of live music events are on the way.

Famous celebs that attended the “Correspondents Gala Dinner” event included American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, Jon Bon Jovi, Sting, Natalie Portman, Felicity Huffman, Forest Whitaker, Stevie Wonder, Glenn Close, Steven Spielberg, Alicia Keys, Eva Longoria Parker, Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore . On the Brit front there was Natasha Bedingfield, Colin Firth, Sting, Gordon Ramsay, and Jonathan Rhys Meyers.

Demi Moore in our opinion stole the show on the Red Carpet and effortlessly we may add. Its called star quality, you’ve either got it or……… you haven’t!

Hilary is coming up as a hot search at the moment and we think it is in connection with this new film role “What Goes Up”.  This is a comedy/drama  independent production type of film  co starring Steve Coogan and Molly Shannon.

The Plot:

Quite a simple one. A morally questionable reporter (Coogan) learns some life lessons from a bunch of even more questionable students whilst trying to do a report on the latest local hot news……..the first teacher into space???? hence the title! Confused??

An interview with Hilary shedding a bit more light on this film and her role within it. “What goes up” is not getting a good reception from the critics, plot does sound funny though, no rating from us at present, one will be given nearer the time if more footage becomes available, which normally doesn’t with independently produced films. Out in cinemas 29 May.

This is Kerr’s second win at this event. She closed with a 1-under 70 to finish at 16-under 268. In-Kyung Kim was second at 14 under after a 71, and Song-Hee Kim (71) and Lindsey Wright (73) tied for third at 13 under.

The US TV show appearance has been in the headlines for a while now, still in the very strong rumour phase, but according to Now Magazine it looks like this US move may be shelved. With news like that you need to see confirmation for a reason why this is not going ahead. According to MTV UK who are incredibly in the know, they have confirmed that Cheryl has indeed started working on solo material. Apparently her husband Ashley Cole has bought Cheryl a recording studio which is being installed in their Surrey Mansion, and Cheryl has approached a line up of producers to work with her on her solo album, which looks set to be released some time next year, according to MTV sources.

This is all good news for Cheryl but this then raises the question where does this leave Girls Aloud?? Splitting, taking a break or something else. According to MTV after the “Out of Control Tour” they intend to take a break and pursue there solo plans with Nicola Roberts heading into the beauty and cosmetic sector, and Sarah Harding into acting and Nadine possibly a solo musical venture. Kimberley as yet unclear! BUT they have signed a 3 album record deal in February just gone and the first of the albums is to be released in Autumn 2010 which would strongly suggest as seems to always be the case, they will be staying together as Girls Aloud for some time to come and Cheryl Cole will be very much part of that arrangement!

 This is not the first time she has done this, she has done a Marilyn Monroe style shoot before, one recreating the very last photoshoot of Marilyn Monroe before she died which has been famously called “the last sitting”. With regards to the Sam Ronson saga, paparazzi footage of overnight stays and spottings in the same area, rows in the middle of the night and leaving   just minutes apart are sparking the latest rumours that something is going on even though she is aparently dating a new guy according to plenty of sources. All we’ve got to say is “girls ……… will you please sort it out and put us out of our misery!”

Back to Cat Deeley as per above photo where she was spotted at the Coachella Music Festival held recently in Mid April, she has found a new flame by the name  of Jack Huston. Huston an actor who once dated Helena Christensen and is also the grandson of director John Huston, and the nephew of Anjelica and Danny Huston.

Any more Cat Deeley headlines and we can guarantee they will be here as she is very much loved by 99% of all Brits and has been missed from our TV screens, this new advert will hopefully bring her superb looks and never fading smile back onto our screens even if its just a matter of a minute or so!

 Rihanna was spotted in a designer store called Intermix that day, this store is famous for advising and dressing the stars and Rihanna is obviously one client, we know Kim Kardashian has been in this store within the last week or so and other celebrities must use this store also.

For those who are interested in such things and have plenty of spare cash or a few platinum cards tucked away gathering dust, the office address is 48 West 25th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY,10010. Normally this level of store is what we label “buzz for selected entry or appointment only” but it could be a walk in normal store, with us being geographically located in London we have no idea which it is.

The main headline surrounding Rihanna bar the Chris Brown saga, is a new music video which is doing the web rounds and it is labelled “Lady GaGa feat Rihana” called “Silly Boy”. A rumoured joint venture between Lady GaGa and Rihanna with Timbaland oversight with very sketchy limited further info. Interesting combo to say the least. Lastly Rihanna was also spotted going to a club called ‘Mr. West’ to party with Katy Perry and Katy’s boyfriend, Travis McCoy, at Katy’s official video release party, photo again of Rihanna below.

Marlee Matlin is famous for her role in the film “Children of A Lesser God” where she managed to pick up the Golden Gobe Award for Best Actress in a Drama and also an Academy Award for Best Actress. This lady is the youngest ever actress to be nominated and win an academy award at the age of 21.

What makes her success all the more astonishing is she  has been deaf since 18 months of age and first started acting at the age of 7 in a theatre production of the Wizard of Oz. Her list of appearances goes on to include household name shows such as Desperate Housewives, ER, CSI:NY and The Outer Limits and has also appeared on Dancing with the Stars.

Quite a few headlines surrounding Leona  Lewis and not all good news, more what life can throw at you when things are going very well, rather than through any actions of her own. She’s recently had a horse riding accident earlier this month according to OK Magazine where she got thrown of the horse which then kicked her resulting in a split lip which has resulted in her suspending recording her second album.

 There have also been some news regarding a stalker fan that was pestering her so badly she abandoned her house just to get some peace according to the Daily Mirror. The fan was following her on shopping trips and camping outside her house, these were the lengths this fan went to. Apparently she flew back to the UK but obviously is now back in LA as the above photo shows.

This info is all tabloid sourced but some respected celeb sources have gone with this story hence its appearance here. All part of the trappings of the fame game something that she will come up against increasingly as she gets ever more famous, and Leona will obviously be taking action to sort out this situation. Security we think is the key word here, something no major celeb should be without, along with the rest of the entourage such as Publicist, Stylist, Manager, Accountant, Lawyer,  amongst the many others.

Jennifer Garner visited on 5 May quite an important place going by the name of Capitol Hill in Washington D.C.  She was with Mark Shriver of Save the Children and and they met with members of congress for a luncheon to discuss the launch of the 2009 State Of The World’s Mothers Report on Capitol Hill. The campaign is to call on President Obama to raise $2bn dollars in additional funding for early education programs for children.

Jennifer Garner also attended with  her mother Pat Garner a press conference to launch the 2009 State of the World’s Mothers Report at the Rosemount Center  also on May 5,  earlier that day in Washington, DC and she also read to some young children before the Capitol Hill meeting.

Just a little insight into what this lady and celebrity gets up to when not on the red carpet or filming, just trying to make a difference and help people,  a good samaritan she certainly is!

Taylor Swift who is not only an American singer but is also a  songwriter and writes her own material is looking to crack the UK Market after her success in her home country. She’s will be busy in London with her line up including a couple of gigs at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and also live at the Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Swindon which takes place on 9 and 10 May. She paid a visit to Guy Ritchie’s Punchbowl Pub in Mayfair Photo below) and was spotted around London and entering and leaving her hotel. The leather biker look jacket in the photo below is hitting all the media and making the headlines.

The Verdict:

Good vocals, nice clean and safe sounding song, poppy and the video is not bad. This lady has talent, that cannot be denied. Musically though, this does nothing for us here at all, just a bit too squeaky clean for our liking, a bit more low end grunt would come in handy, slightly more risque lyrics, a touch more soundstaging and just a bit more “dynamic” slightly rougher edged sounding to quote  an example say like Pink’s latest number. Apart from that the technicals are there, and this will probably do well in the charts as she has a huge following, it’s just not pushing any buttons for us here at all, but the song still arrives at a respectable rating regardless Rating 3 stars out 5

KK hit the spot for us (yet again) in an all white ensemble topped off with a very nice looking classy hat number with the necessary feather sticking out and enormous celeb shades with some sexy looking black glove things. Not earth shattering news but one thing we noticed is she has gone back to her “brunette locks” after sporting a sort of “Beyonce” look earlier last week see previous post for photo.

Its had us scratching our heads here, and upon further investigation according to some sources but not all, she was wearing a wig that weekend to fox everybody and cause a bit of media chaos. But looking at the photo again it just doesn’t have that wig look? The worry and sleepless nights continue!

There could be some developments in the Kim Kardashian department, something involving rings and ring shopping is starting to do the rumour rounds on the wires, just quiet mumblings at the moment, there’s also some KK news which we are keeping under our hat, watch for further news!

She had a bit of a “trip and fall” outside the club which is hitting all the media in front of the predicted mass of photographers that had gathered outside, but in true celeb style she sort of bounced back up, as you do when you are a celeb, and got into her Cadillac Escalade driven of course by a chauffeur and faded away into the night  to avoid any further embarassment according to the Daily Mail.

An interesting bit of investigative research here as celebs are very good at covering there tracks when they want to and in this game you have to be a very good detective.

A long story but essential reading, some people may be well aware of the following fact. Lindsay Lohan has recently released a fake tanning product as red heads have trouble tanning normally under direct sunlight. All interesting stuff and we wish her the best of luck with her new business venture, but whats even more interesting is she has called this product or brand Sevin Nyne. Nice name, but delve deeper and Seven and Nine are her two favourite numbers, according to a number of media sources. Whats even more incredibly interesting is if you add sevinnyne as a twitter account ending you come up with a profile by the name of Dolce Vita. Has at the time of writing 206 followers hardly a celebrity following. This Dolce Vita has protected updates and a My Space page listed that ends in non other than Lindsay Lohan which we know is hers!! Some top media sources have picked up on this some time ago but is it her, or just somebody having a bit of fun or something more?? If anybody has any more details let us know on the FJ Girls Forum!

Lady GaGa true to form had an unbelievable number of costume changes and all backed up by superb props. All costumes had the trademark “this can only be Lady GaGa” look. Whats really making the headlines though, is, as a result of her having to reschedule her Philadelphia or as they say in the US “Philly” show, she feels she has let them down and has promised to give the audience  something er …….. extra……………in the shape of a serious flash according to Digital Spy. Madonna was sporting the highly casual, leather jacket and combat jeans look, and according to a New york daily News Source “Madonna Loved GaGa’s Show”. It looks like she is a fan but she left half way through, as the show was due to finish at 1am , too late for her daughter Lourdes.

Fergie of Black Eyed Peas fame was due to be Female Celebrity of the Month for May on this site, with her new brunette look, new clothing and shoe range and the release of the new single and album called Boom Boom Pow, she was a female celeb that was buzzing and was ripe for front page showcase material. That was until we saw the Lady GaGa performance of  ”Poker Face” on the Paul O Grady Show! It  impressed us in such a way that Fergie was put on hold and Lady GaGa was given the front page spot for May instead.

This song “Paparazzi” we’ve picked as it is different and shows a  more serious side to this lady. It’s not as well known as her two number one hits “Poker Face” and “Just Dance” but this acoustic version with her showing her unique vocal and unbelievable piano playing ability which wouldn’t be out of place at London’s Royal Abert Hall,  is a must see not only for Lady GaGa fans, but more importantly also for the Lady GaGa doubters out there, that may think she is a result of media hype and nothing more. At the end of this video just like FJ, we can guarantee you will think otherwise!

Transformers 2 stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, John Benjamin Hickey, Ramon Rodriguez, and Isabel Lucas. Michael Bay is in the direction seat with Steven Spielberg as Executive Producer. Release is looking to be around June 24th. Linkin Park according to their official website source look set to provide the musical backdrop in some shape or form. 

From what we have seen of the film via trailers (we have 2) the original trailer and the newly just released trailer 2 version, taken into account its sci fi action intentions, this looks an OK film from what we’ve seen so far, and it can’t be denied the cast and production line up that is in play here. Unrated at present, a review will be here around when the film premieres which is normally days before the general release.

She recently attended along with other Celebrities the “Rally for Kids with Cancer Scavenger Cup – Qualifiers Celebrity Draft Party”  held at The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles. She was also spotted with her  husband Tony  on the same day in West Hollywood   having a romantic dinner together in the Katsuya restaurant photo below of them leaving the restaurant.

They performed a 3 song set with the first being one of their earlier offerings entitled Spiderwebs followed by one of their most famous songs “Don’t Speak” and they closed with a cover of Talk Talks “It’s My Life”. They are due to tour this summer and are due to appear in the  Bamboozle Music Festival in the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey.  and will also be working on a new album which will be the follow up to the 2001 offering “Rocksteady”.

Performance wise everything was really focused on Gwen and she was under pressure, as the backup will be consistent even after along break. Mixed reception from You Tubers. She did OK, presence wise she is there, you never lose that, and she looked the biz,  but vocally it just lacked that sparkle, kick and bite from the earlier days. A good tour workout will more than likely help, but either way they are back, it will be interesting to see where they go from here!

Loads of headlines surrounding this lady, when you are this big there always will be. Pregancy rumours she’s expecting a third child have been flattened at source, restraining order rumours look to be fact,  A Los Angeles judge on Tuesday ruled her ex-manager Sam Lutfi and the attorney Jon Eardley stay away from the singer and her family for three years, according to the Associated Press, thats some restraining order!

The headlines go on, and most are common knowledge but the headlines we like here at FJ Girls are the ones that tell you about “The Girl” her habits and ways, some of which may not be such common knowledge. One headline that caught our eye is from a London Free Paper called “London Lite” part of the mountain of material you read when involved in celebrity news. It mentions Britney will be staying at the “Dorchester” during her stay in London, all sounds like regular celeb stuff, but apparently she has requested a “Pole Dancers Pole” to be fitted in her hotel room reason is below according to the source.

“Britney loves pole dancing, it is her new favourite work out – she gets the toning that she needs without having to hit the gym, and she wants to be able to do it in the privacy of her own hotel room”. 

“Keeping fit on the tour is very important as her show is full of rigorous dance routines, so Britney likes to do her pole dancing work out every morning when she gets up.”

Sounds feasible, these sort of requests made by a top star as in diva, are normally labelled “Diva Demands” by the media, another request of Britney’s is a chef from Nandos to be on call to prepare “Spicy Chicken” and also she needs to visit “Top Shop”. Thats the start of the list on May 1st, still a month and a few days to go, we think there will be more!

One last headline, she is following this site on Twitter and we are following her, although at present our Twitter is automated feed from this site only and we are not really actively tweeting, but an appearance could be on the cards in the future. Britney follows 300, 000 plus over on Twitter which is an impossible amount to follow,  but all the same ,any “Britney” news is double and triple checked before it is released, so it will tend to be pretty accurate!

A new T Mobile commercial called “Lifes for Sharing” was filmed in Trafalgar Square with a crowd of 2000 initially with microphones (we think dummy) which swelled inevitably to nearer 13000-15000 all doing a karaoke singalong singing hits such as The Beatles’ Hey Jude and Britney Spears’s Hit Me Baby One More Time as part of the advert theme.

The highlight though was a shock “popping up” in the crowd of  Pink who broke into an  rendition of her hit single “So What” from the middle of the huge commercial crowd much to everybodies amazement.

This is a T Mobile TV Commercial series part of a recent stream of this type of crowd advertising, one being recently shot at a major central London train station with 350 people doing co-ordinated dancing in Liverpool Street Station in the rush hour???

The new advert is due to appear during the break of “Britain’s Got Talent” on Saturday May 2 at 9pm on ITV1.

An attractive actress with a very attractive personality, you can’t help but like this lady, very difficult not to,  and she is funny as well. She was sporting scabs on her knee which she was quite proud to show off to the world,  full details in the interview, and just proves even celebrities are subject to cuts and bruises.

Jennifer Garner best known for her role as CIA agent Sydney Bristow in Alias has also appeared in quite a broad spectrum of films from the likes of Juno and Pearl Harbor alongside Kate Beckinsale, to the comedy “Dude Where’s My Car” and then finally starred alongside Leonardo Di Caprio in a film called “Catch Me If You Can” about a master cheque forger that had the knack of making free money, if you have seen the film you’ll know the scene that she appears in, it is an absolute classic.

Her latest appearance in “Ghosts of Girlfriends Past” we reviewed a couple of days ago and the film came out the other end virtually flattened with a rating of 1and a half stars out of 5 but that is no way a reflection on this ladies acting ability, more the quality of the film she had to act in. This scene has her donning on her black wig again part of the many disguises she wears throught this spy thriller film  and photographers managed to get this shot on the New York Subway with her inside sporting  her brunette look.

The Baster has also been filming in New York which stars Jennifer Aniston and some subway scenes were shot around the subway in the Grand Central Station Area earlier this month, as yet they have not bumped into each other, whether it is all planned so they do not see each other is an interesting point, how much longer this is guaranteed to not happen is something that would make an interesting bet!

As always the bigger the celeb the more the gossip and the latest tongue wagging over Jennifer Aniston has included that she may be adopting (not true) with some sources saying it is 65% true, how 65% is arrived at is a new one on us. 

Further rumours she may be in a feud with Jennifer Lopez according to quite a few media sources as Jennifer Aniston is starring as a single mother in “the Baster” and Jennifer Lopez is due to start shooting later this year for a come back film role called “Plan B” where she also strangely enough stars as a single mother.

The similarity in roles is a bit coincidental and the realease times also could be close, and there are media claims Lopez is not to happy about the situation as this could upstage and ruin her comeback. Whether there is any substance to this  rumoured “feud” remains to be seen but quite a few news sources are on this one!

Another coincidence or merely just filming at the same time in the same town with also similar film release dates yet again, the Angelina Jolie “Salt” filming and Jennifer Aniston “The Baster” filming timings are so uncannily spot on its unreal. The silent Jolie/Aniston never meeting although shooting in the same town saga  continues!

Rumours or no rumours, one thing is for certain, Jennifer Aniston has been seriously face locking with Jason Bateman (below) that is fact,  she looks pretty damn good in red…fact,  and with the added Juliette Lewis interest in “The Baster” , this looks to be shaping up to be an interesting film that now has some interesting competition with the J Lo and Angelina heavyweight names floating around not too far away.

Lindsay Lohan was spotted with a surfing instructor learning to surf and managed to master the basics with one of the biggest genuine smiles we’ve seen from this lady for a long long time. The media are picking up on the thin factor, but its the smile that stands out for us, either way she is oblivious to the media line and is having a good time.

Rumours and more rumours always circulating around LiLo, the latest being she may be writing a song about her break up with Sam Ronson according to the Free London Paper Metro under the very hard to find “The Green Room” section that contains some highly personal celeb thoughts and tid bits which we take with a pinch of salt but take note of from time to time.

 Whether this song writing rumour is just a personal thing or something that is to be released commercially is unclear, any further details and they will be here.

They are signing on to the EMI label and they have backing that has helped names such as Natascha Bedingfield and also Estelle, so they are ready to roll and are on a mission.

An interesting promo video shot in various parts of everyday London such as the Tube and near building sites and outside buildings in central London with plenty of strange looks from passers by with that “WTF” look on their face. The Fantastic Four Star Jessica Alba turned 28 yesterday and she was spotted in Hollywood shopping on Melrose Avenue and also  apparently was looking for office space in the Beverley Hills area according to a pap agency and later that evening went to a restaurant called Ceconnis in West Hollywood with her husband Cash Warren. To end the night she went to a club with her husband and apparently the champagne was flowing freely and Jessica let her hair down and did a bit of sexy dancing according to radaronline.

The Plot:
X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a superhero film based on the fictional Marvel Comics character Wolverine that will be released in most countries by May 1, 2009. The film is directed by Gavin Hood and stars Hugh Jackman as the title character. It is a prequel to the X-Men film trilogy, focusing on the mutant Wolverine and his time with Team X, before Wolverine’s skeleton was bonded with the indestructible metal adamantium. The film was mostly shot in Australia and New Zealand.

The Verdict. 

Seems to be receiving fair reviews this film, we have not seen the film , this rating is purely trailer based and various other snippits here and there,  and has to be taken as such. Posters on buses all over London, media hype pre its release being billed as May 1st globally, but what is actually on offer here as prequels are notoriously highly variable in quality?

Hugh Jackman of the recent “Australia” fame plays the lead as Wolverine, with Lynn Colins his very attractive love interest.  From what we thought would be a ridiculous film, first impressions are surprisingly good, this by all accounts is a very fast paced marvel comic book adaptation and will thrill comic book hero types no end and action seekers will not be left short changed.

Drama, action some sort of story and plot here although nothing exceptional,, the usual slightly cheesy one liners here and there typical of this type of film, some reasonable acting it has to be said, the trailer managed to draw us in and there’s some sort of emotional clout and presence in this film, that had us scrambling for more snippets out of sheer curiosity, that  always cuts a sway with us here!

A good transfer of comic to film (not always easy) although purists may find some faults. All in all we are not sure what the critics will make of this one, but we are firmly  above neutral , there is some form of quality here. Only criticism which has had us shaving a whisker off on the rating, they may have gone a bit OTT in the number of comic book characters introduced into this film and adrenaline  action does take priority over the finer technical aspects which is another markdown. Otherwise a film for comic book and action types to put on their viewing list without a doubt, and definetly one for the lads.  Rating 3 stars out 5 +++++++ Definetly worth a look. Box Office wise………….haven’t got a clue!

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is an upcoming 2009 American romantic comedy film that offers a new take on Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
A womanizer (Matthew McConaughey) is haunted by the ghosts of his former girlfriends at his younger brother’s (Breckin Meyer) wedding. The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (Emma Stone), Present (Noureen DeWulf), and Future (Amanda Walsh) take him on a journey through his romantic history (à la Ebenezer Scrooge) to help him come to a realization about his ways with women and as well as what he lost with the one woman he was previously intimate and passionately with since childhood.

The Verdict.

Why does this film remind us of 17 Again starring Zac Efron. Initial critic reviews are poor on this film but we rarely  agree with the critics. Romantic Comedy is the billing they’ve got the first part right, its a romantic film, comedy…….not so sure, we didn’t laugh once. A Christmas Carol is superb in book and film format and a good life lesson teacher, this film is a poor rendition of the original idea. A technically not great film and probably one of those films that we would walk out on half way through.  Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner do an admirable job in a poor film and even Michael Douglas with his superior star quality cannot save the day. For once we agree with the critics on this one. Rating 1 and half stars out 5  The half star is for Jennifer Garner. She is looking very good indeed and we love the “Appendage removal” line which seems to be the highlight of the film! Box office wise this has flop and disaster written all over it, but sometimes these films irritatingly do very well and end up No1 for weeks. We hope this will not be the case !

It has been revealed he will not be needing any surgery but it was a borderline case and scans were required to reach the verdict not to operate. Jamie Lynn Spears has been at the hospital in the intensive care unit on hand for any developments.

 She is due to perform in the US with her tour starting on 15 September and due to last about a month with the first stop being at WaMu Theatre in Vancouver and the last at September 28 at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA. Cities from coast to coast are to be included in the tour, dates and cities as yet to be confirmed.

She is also doing an extensive tour of Australia as part of this world tour and it will be running from May 22nd to August 22nd. Katie Price managed to lose the heels and don the not so glam trainers to run the 26.2 miles course with her husband Peter Andre, she was doing well until about 18 miles when she managed to twist her knee which then had her struggling for the last 8 miles but Peter Andre coaxed her on. She managed to finish in 7 hours and 11 minutes and also managed to raise over a quarter of a million pounds for her charity called Vision.

The Womens Main race was won by Irene Mitikenko of Germany in 2 hours 22 minutes and 11 seconds and second place fell to Brit runner Mara Yamauchi who came home in 2 hours 23 minutes and 12 seconds. Yamauchi is the Paula Radcliffe contender and has her sights on achieving a medal win in the 2012 Olympics to be held in London and is one to keep an eye on!

The ”Keeping up with the Kardashians” star  was spotted with the new look this Sunday in New York’s SoHo neighbourhood in Manhattan and caused a massive stir with the paparazzi who obviously had a field day. The Albany shoot has some very demanding stunts covering high speed car chases and other dangerous action sequences which have been handled by Angelina Jolie stunt and body doubles, but she has been spotted on 26 April, involved in shooting various sequences where she is clambering on top of a truck moving at speed, but this is a depiction as opposed to the real deal as the truck looks to be actually stationery.

Angelina is rumoured to be in the Albany area possibly for another couple of days and filming will continue till approx 4 May.

Last but not least we have Lady GaGa in Paris caught by X17 who just happened to be in the area, quite handy, walking around with an umbrella and of course that umbrella hat again.

Lady GaGa, we think she’s quite clever this one, not quite in the Emma Watson category but she knows how to manage the media to maximum effect, she’s got the whole fame thing wrapped up in a nutshell, knows how to dress pushing boundaries to the limit making you think you are seeing everything when it reality its all smoke and mirrors and you’re not seeing much at all. The whole Lady GaGa thing is cleverly engineered, its called “branding” and this is a very strong and deceptively clever “brand”!

Vocally we think she is average, she has power but range is always the true test, but she can belt out a song live in power terms consistently from beginning to end whilst performing her dance routines, no miming here! We’ve seen a number of performances beyond this show, and she certainly can put on a performance and her choice of clothing never ceases to amaze. She’s fresh and different without straying too much into weirdoramaville. She’s been musically inclined since a young age, question is will she be around in a few years time, that remains to be seen! Her answer reading between the lines seems to be “Yes”.

Angelina Jolie as at 24 April was not in Albany but her stunt and body doubles were filming the more dangerous parts of the film that Angelina would not be expected to undertake. Beyonce stole the show with Ali Larter looking equal show stealer in our opinion, both shone, Beyonce in a black number with the straight haired look, Ali Larter with the pearl and gladiator heels look!

Plot:

Quite a simple one. A successful asset manager, who has just received a huge promotion, is blissfully happy in his career and in his marriage. But when a temp worker starts stalking him (Larter), all the things he’s worked so hard for are placed in jeopardy. The cast includes Idris Elba, Beyoncé Knowles, Ali Larter, Bruce McGill, Scout Taylor-Compton, Ron Roggé.

The Verdict.

Female stars including Ali Larter and Beyonce, guarantees the beauty factor is  in abundance in this film.  Other actors here are not so well known with us here. Obsessed is a sort of modern day “Fatal Attraction” which starred Glen Close and that was an incredibly good film, and is one hell of a tough act to follow. If you’ve seen it you’ll know what we are talking about, if you haven’t, see it!

The storyline in Obsessed is good and pretty true to life,  as these things do go on in the real world, and from what we have seen it looks a gripping film, but just three things let it down. Firstly, just don’t know why,  it has a slightly TV movie feel about it, just slightly, secondly acting looks reasonable but is not outstanding, and thirdly we do like originality and there is a slight borrowed feel to the story line here with a different “Fatal Attraction” twist.

All 3 are mark downs in our books but minor ones, from a neutral rating of 3. A film still worth seeing for the Beyonce and Larter factor none the less. All You Tubers are giving the thumbs up. We are firmly slightly below neutral.Rating 2 and half stars out of 5. Box office wise it really is anything goes with this film, No1, or total flop, or anything in between. Depends what else is out there at the time!

Important interview for Lindsay this one, as its a chance for her to put the media, general public and  bloggers right, a chance to shoot down all rumours and get some things off her chest and put things straight. whether it works remains to be seen!

We are taking a different angle on this premiere with a couple of “Pre Premiere” shots you may not see anywhere else, to give you an idea what the casual Miley is all about and some stars with crowds in background shots, for those who were there! Top Shop is two thumbs up from Miley and a visit to the Oxford Street flagship store was a main priority apart from the film premiere, check her tweets for that. She’s due to appear live today Friday at the Apple Store at Regent Street and its competition winners only for the tickets none are for sale, but if you head down there you may catch a glimpse of her going in or coming out.

FJ half watched on cam whilst pumping out other female celeb news, and it wasn’t mega crowded but just busy like any normal premiere. A beautiful night weather wise, and a stunning Miley who wore a mini dress with her trademark warm smile and looked the biz and walked the carpet signing fans autographs with her father Billy Ray Cyrus who also attended. As far as we are aware there was no hoe down throw down routine from Miley, and no stiletto heel hurling either.

The Plot and Verdict:

Hannah Montana big time star gets into a shoe fight with Tyra Banks (do you know who i am?) and as a result has to eat humble pie and is sent back by her dad to her hometown Crowley Corners in the very ordinary and down to earth Tennessee, where there is not a stretch limo in site but plenty of cows and chickens, to teach her some life lessons and give her a bit of grounding. Cows mooing, chickens clucking, stiletto’s hanging out of walls ………………. Hmmmmm!

Trailer based only this verdict/rating, but from what we have seen here, got to say in all honesty……………………..this does look pretty good stuff, had us laughing here, features 12 new Miley songs, its very Disney and obviously geared up to a younger audience but is watchable by a more mature audience as well. Not the most complex of films by any stretch of the imagination so it will not land top marks there, and we can almost hear the critics choking on their pop corn and trying to say “tut tut” at the same time, , but what the hell we like it, we like Miley, its wild, wacky and fun with a capital F.

Miley puts in a solid performance. Box office wise this thing looks to be an absolute flier, N01 and nothing less, but we could be wrong on that one. Bearing in mind the audience its geared up for, we are going with a Rating of 3 stars out of 5. We think another ray of sunshine success story for Miley without a doubt hence why she is Female Celebrity of the Month for April at FJ Girls and one that is on our radar to keep an eye on!

But the real headline which has a bit more juice to it, is Audrina Partridge will be stripping down to her underwear to feature in a new PETA Ad campaign called Angels for Animals with the aim being for people to adopt animals rather than buying them. Its all very good stuff, what has us scratching our heads here, do you need to take most of your kit off to achieve this objective.  Either way, if Audrina wants to strip down to her underwear for a good cause thats fine by us…………………………. we are not complaining!

Zoe Saldana (pictured above) who plays Lt Uhura was at the premiere last night and for us stole the show, in this case it wasn’t the dress althought it was good, it was the girl,  she shone more than most, a hard thing to describe in words, but you know it when you see it something they call “star quality”.   This film also features Winona Ryder who plays Spocks Mother, but unfortunately she was unable to attend the event.

 Film Plot:

Star Trek is a 2009 science fiction film directed by J. J. Abrams, written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, and produced by Damon Lindelof and Bryan Burk. It is the eleventh film based on the Star Trek franchise and features the main characters of the original Star Trek series, who are portrayed by a new cast. It explores the backstories of James T. Kirk (Chris Pine) and Spock (Zachary Quinto), before they unite aboard the USS Enterprise to combat Nero (Eric Bana), a Romulan from the future who threatens the United Federation of Planets.

The Verdict:

A lot of effort has gone into this film, its taken in film terms a monster length of time to make, with 12 months being the norm for conventional films.  Its a hard work, blood and tears production but none of these things are our concern here, what is our concern is the end result………………………is it any good and more to the point is it worth going to see!

This is a totally revamped Star Trek, we are not Trekkies here but are aware of the original TV series version with William Shatner, the series of films that came out with the new Captain who we thought was good, and this film is now No11 in the series with a complete change of cast with some role reprisals but the emphasis is on the fact that the characters and character names have not changed. Its very fresh looking and the opening sequence looks very similar to the Terminator Salvation scene, minus the hi tech chase.

Fresh is the word we would use here, revitalised is the other, as it was in need of a makeover, a similar situation to the Bond films with Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace making things a bit grittier and just that bit more real and bringing things bang up to date.

The film has story, pace and drama, some character development, earth and space shots/sets and does have special effects as in CGI, but the film does not rely on these to make the film, they merely enhance the experience.

All shaping up to be a decent rated film but there are negatives here. First with a wild actor change, those who are used to the original cast as in actors, may have some trouble adjusting from the very distinct original actors, in our opinion there is only one Spock, and only one Scotty with his famous scenes in the “engine room” trying to “get more power”. Dr “Bones” and his famous temper again another very strong character, very hard to replace and the chemistry these characters had together after working together for so long, that is something that is very very hard to replace.

Trekkie purists may have trouble adjusting to all these changes, but we think it had to be done, whether it works is debateable Another negative and its a criticism raised by a few critics, this film is not as “cerebral” as the previous Star Trek outings in other words the grey matter will not be stretched nearly as much with the quantum physics and molecular analysis that was going on in previous offerings. Thirdly the baddies in this film just didn’t cut it with us, just looked a bit laughingly retro in an otherwise fresh and modern film.

Our final verdict is we are neutral on this film, there’s enough technical backbone to keep this film out of our gutter ratings, for sure. As for the critics, they  are never keen on sci fi films, so don’t expect any significant star ratings, 1 or 2’s with a possible 3 here or there, will be the order of the day but we could be wrong on that one.  Movie mags on the posters always give 4 and 5 stars, always, but its the comments you have to read closely. As with all ratings they have to be taken with a pinch of salt.

 This film will pull in the Trekkie fans, Sci Fans and also fans of some of the actors and actresses that appear in this film and action film fans will probably also be keen to view this offering. This all adds up to at least a reasonable box office success, add the Star Trek strong branding, and this could, repeat could be a flier,  but we think Hannah Montana: The Movie just around the corner , will cause this film some serious problems in the ratings war and fly at a much higher level.  Our Rating 3 stars out 5 and worth a look!

The Hannah Montana Movie London Premiere which is provisionally to be held on 23 April but according to Yahoo News will be on Friday, has been a success in the states not only claiming the box office No1 spot over the Easter weekend but also 6 of the 12 song tracks that appear on the film have reached the US Hot 100 Chart with the highest being No 8.

Serena Williams managed to hold the No1 spot for 11 weeks and this recent tumble is being put down to her suffering a leg injury , and has obviously affected her performance and resulting ranking.

Some mention in the media that Dinara Safina as good as she is, has not won a major grand slam title in her career and the likes of Serena Williams who has won 10 major events including recently last years US open and this years Australian Open is in a different class, and does start to raise questions over the ranking system, but the ranking system doesn’t obviously alllow for injuries.

Which ever way you look at it though, the top 5 still contains the Williams sisters, and they are still very much in the running for the major Grand Slam matches which are getting ever closer which are held at Melbourne, New York, Paris and London respectively. The current top ranking is a temporary state of affairs in our opinion, and Williams, once injury recovered, will be looking to regain that top spot without a doubt!

Not one for sitting around waiting for things to happen, especially when Fergie is involved, we wondered if there was an “on set” and a “sneak peeks” video to get the inside track on what this video is all about with some commentary from the Black Eyed Peas team especially Fergie looking incredibly tasty maybe even more so than usual, this would be great, and maybe some on set and behind the scenes backstage material showing the making of the video. thrown in as well. Not asking much are we? A video like that would be priceless if you could find it!
